May 19, 2018- Selena Gomez showed up her best friend @taylorswift‘s instagram story yesterday (read: this morning) during rehearsals for her surprise appearance on the Reputation Tour stage. She wore the 7 For All Mankind Mankind Puff Print Crewneck in color White. Its available now for $140.
May 7, 2018- Selena Gomez attended the Met Gala on Monday in New York City looking ethereal and angelic in custom Coach opera-length dress made of vintage silk gauze. Selena channeled Queen Esther from the bible for this look as she noted is quoted saying “She has such an effortless sense of style, and we wanted to evoke that graceful and easy feeling.” The dress was made with hand-sewn lace and pleated frills, then dusted with a smattering of crystal embellishments and studs.

Theme: Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination
This look caused quite the stir. I do believe her tan was too extreme and it sort of threw off the whole look. I also wanted a different lip color and I’m not sure if its her highlight or oil but there was a tinge too much sheen on her face. Besides that, I really dig the look! Her hair was on par with the theme and the dress is beautiful!!! My only critique is, I wish the top of the dress were more fitted. Halos and Crowns were very prevalent in Catholicism as they were used to indicate holy or sacred figures. Queen Esther was often pictured wearing a crown, it would’ve been nice to see Selena wearing one.
All in all, I really do genuinely like the look! Though I personally don’t think it’s her best look its hardly a fashion fail to me. The delicate intricacies in her dress were brilliantly done. The super long train was to die for. I don’t get what the big deal was. Its important to consider your subject when you’re creating your expectations. Selena has never been the type to wear something elaborate and over the top, it wouldn’t work for her. Selena has prided herself in always expressing who she is whether it be through her music, public image and her style. Remember that the next time you want to compare her to someone else. We are all individuals. We aren’t meant to be the same.
